Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance do we need to make reservations for linens, portraits and recreational rentals?  

The sooner the better of course, and all reservations are made on a first come first serve basis.  Linens, however, can be guaranteed up until 1 week prior to your stay.  Other products such as a family portrait sessions, dinner reservations, bike rentals, etc. have limited space and it's strongly recommended that you book four weeks or more before your check-in date.  Make reservations here.  

Do you have a list of recommended restaurants?  How early do we need to make those reservations?  

Yes we do and we can email you a PDF of that list!  Reservations are never guaranteed and Chatham is a small town with a few wonderful places to eat - and they fill up FAST!  Reservations are a MUST in the summer and must be made at least two weeks ahead of time to come close to your preferred time.  If looking for a Wednesday - Saturday evening reservation, allow at least three weeks ahead.  

Do you offer cribs, high chairs and other baby items for rent?  

Yes we work closely with a local children's shop that specializes in all things baby!  These items book up quickly as well so advance reservations are strongly recommended.  

Can you arrange transportation to and from the airport for us?  Do you offer a private driving service? 

Yes we are happy to help with travel arrangements to Chatham for you and work with several different livery services that can accommodate your specific itinerary.  

How available are you to reach during our stay?  

We try to be available 7 days a week at reasonable hours of the day.  Office calls will be forwarded to a cell phone when no one is present, but you are welcome to email or call my cell directly any time.  

What is your refund policy if our travel plans change unexpectedly?

You pay for your full rental fee upfront for all items; refunds are issued on a case by case basis and we do our best to accommodate such needs, especially in any emergency circumstances.  Many items, however, will only be issued a 50% refund once within three weeks of check-in date.  

Do you accept Visa, MasterCard, AmEx, Discover, PayPal?  


Can you create a custom package for our family with any discounts?  

Packages stay exactly how they are; if you'd like to add on items a la carte you may do so and if you choose not to use one of the items included that's up to you.  No customization offered at this time.  We are happy to email you a list of our preferred vendors, see next question!

Do you have a list of local businesses/contacts that you can share with us to handle bookings directly on our own?  

Yes, we are happy to provide you with a PDF of preferred vendors via email, just ask!  

How do you provide childcare for families?  

We work with a very reputable agency on the Cape (they even babysit my children!) who provide background checks, detailed contracts and wonderful care takers for your children.  For more details or questions, please don't hesitate to contact us, I'm happy to speak from personal experience.  

Do you assist in our rental check-in/check-out processes?  

Generally no we do not; we will be present during check-in hours at Pine Acres Realty on Saturdays but are happy to offer assistance to all guests as best as possible.  If you're in need of assistance and are unable to reach a rental associate, please don't hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to help you.  Pine Acres Rental Agents are available 24 hours a day though and you should be able to contact someone at anytime.  

Do you have additional fees for last minute services provided?  

Yes, there are additional fees for last minuteservices provided that will be based upon specifics for each case.  We do our best to accommodate all guests as fairly and efficiently as possible.  

What's the best way to get to Chatham?  Train?  Bus?  Time of day to drive?  The route?
